形態特徵

• Perennial herb; rhizomes robust, fleshy, usually with pungent odor.
• Radical leaves elongate-petiolate, cordate or rounded-cordate, 8–10 cm across, chartaceous, entire, wavy-dentate apically, glabrous on both surfaces, lustrous green above, pale green beneath, petioles 8–12 cm long. somewhat wing-like at base, grooved; cauline leaves broadly ovate to cordate, 2–4 cm long, slightly cordate at base, short-petioled.
• inflorescences racemes, scape ascending, 20–40 cm long; flowers white, numerous; bracts somewhat like those of cauline leaves, but smaller; pedicels 1–3 cm long, slender, glabrous; sepals 4, about 4 mm long, obtuse; petals obovate-cuneate, 5–6 mm long; Stamens ca. 4 mm long; style slender.
• Siliques linear, 2.5–4 cm long, pedicelate; pedicels 3–5 mm long.
• In Flora of Taiwan Vol. 2, the species was erroneously treated as a native species, <i>W. tenus</i> Matsum. Additional evidence from specimens and literature indicate the species to be <i>W. japonica</i>. This species was introduced to Taiwan in 1920 and is now sporadically naturalized in the Alishan area. Its pungent rhizomes are used for seasoning.

• 世界 : Japan. Taiwan, introduced in 1920, usually planted in high mountains in the Alishan area, sometimes escaped.
